NASA visitor

Toast week, a speaker from the NASA Langley branch, spoke to the 8th grade science students. Beth Plentovich informed the students about the rising temperature of the Earth. She charismatically pointed out the dramatic changes that the Earth has been suffering through for the last few years. Also, she gave advice on what anyone can do to reduce the amount of energy we waste every day. Every little environmentally friendly way you change what you do every day could have a significant impact on the Earth for the future.

Food Drive for Food Bank

Sutherland is collecting food for the Food Bank! Please bring in canned food to drop in the large cans outside each grade level wing. We will be collecting food until March 4. Remember that Spirit Week is coming up! Here is the schedule: Monday : Crazy Hair Day Tuesday : Jersey Day Wednesday : Hippie Day Thursday : Black Out Day There will be a pep rally on that Thursday, the 30th. Remember that Friday is off!

7th Grade Cell Analogy Projects

Students in 7th grade science have finished working on their cell analogy projects.  They had the choice of 5 different projects or the option to create their own project.  The students were very creative in developing all different types of projects including a rap music video, a Mine Craft map, a play mobile airport, movie of a One Direction concert, and a cell game.  Here are just some of the projects created by the students.
