19th Annual Carnival

Sutherland Middle School is having its annual carnival, on Friday February 24. The games are from 6:00 to 8:30, with a dance starting at 8:45 and ending at 10:00. The entrance fee is $15, which includes admission to all games, activities, and of course, the dance. Pick up one of the hot pink pamphlets in the office for a list of all the available games (such as airbrush tattoos, the donut walk, and the ever popular HAUNTED HOUSE!) and eligibility reminders (Bring in those overdue library books and behave!) Eighth graders should enter through the eighth grade wing entrance, seventh graders through the main entrance, and sixth graders through the cafeteria main door. Concession will be sold, prices ranging from $1.00 to $2.50.

Food Drive for Food Bank

Sutherland is collecting food for the Food Bank! Please bring in canned food to drop in the large cans outside each grade level wing. We will be collecting food until March 4. Remember that Spirit Week is coming up! Here is the schedule: Monday : Crazy Hair Day Tuesday : Jersey Day Wednesday : Hippie Day Thursday : Black Out Day There will be a pep rally on that Thursday, the 30th. Remember that Friday is off!

7th Grade Cell Analogy Projects

Students in 7th grade science have finished working on their cell analogy projects.  They had the choice of 5 different projects or the option to create their own project.  The students were very creative in developing all different types of projects including a rap music video, a Mine Craft map, a play mobile airport, movie of a One Direction concert, and a cell game.  Here are just some of the projects created by the students.
